New Cornerstone Supportive Housing
CSV is thrilled to have worked alongside Cornerstone once again to provide a new home for women and gender-diverse people facing the challenge of homelessness in our community.
This project included the development of 46 new affordable residential units located at 44 Eccles Street in Ottawa. The building was an existing 4-storey office and former school which was retrofitted into studio apartments. 30% of the units are dedicated to Indigenous Peoples.
This project also included the development of a community kitchen, shared living and multi-purpose space, offices for Cornerstone staff and other support providers, and a outdoor garden and seating area.
Supported by the Rapid Housing Initiative
Funding for this project was provided by the Federal Government’s Rapid Housing Initiative through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Additional funding was also provided by the Provincial Government and the City.
Cornerstone Housing for Women is a not-for-profit organization that provides housing and support for women in an inclusive and barrier-free way. We are proud to be a part of the solution to end homelessness and provide affordable housing to women in need.
