Winona Residential Development
377-381 Winona Avenue is a 6-storey brick veneer rental apartment building by Azure Urban Development in the heart of Westboro. The Posthouse will features 60 units with commercial spaces on the ground floor and one-storey of underground parking. Additionally, the building includes residential amenity space on the rooftop.
The exterior features a classic red brick façade with meticulous detailing that steps back at the entrances to invite the community in and create an arcade that translates up the building. The fixtures and finishes are inspired by the original home.
Design details
CSV Architects drew inspiration from warehouse conversions in New York to center the building on the history of the community. The interior reflects the legacy of one of the property’s original owners, William Lowry, who served as Westboro’s Postmaster in the late 1800s. The exterior features a classic red brick façade, and the fixtures and finishes are inspired by the original home. The ground floor hosts a bespoke French restaurant named Elise after William Lowry’s wife, incorporating over 1000 sqft of brick from the original home into its design.
