Third-party certification involves an independent assessment declaring that the responsible product or design achieves environmental targets. In addition to LEED®, the following is a list of other Green Building Certifications that CSV can help you achieve.
Green Globes: Green certification is designed for both new construction and major renovations. It is a credible, cost effective option to LEED. This green building guideline and certification program is currently utilized by Carleton University, Whole Foods Market, Canadian Tire and Scotiabank, among others. CSV has eleven Green Globes Professionals (GGPs) on staff.
Passive House: Passive House (Passivhaus) certification has very high standards for insulation and reduction in heating/cooling demands. Super insulation, high levels of ventilation, and design for passive heating/cooling eliminates the need for a conventional HVAC system, reducing energy loads for heating/cooling to not more than 15 kWh/sq.m per year. CSV has a Certified Passive House Designer on staff and is currently pursuing passive house certification for a multi-unit residential social housing project.
BOMA BEST: This is a national program addressing energy and environmental performance of existing buildings. It is available for six specific building types: offices, shopping centres, open air retail plazas, light industrial buildings, multi-unit residential buildings, and health care facilities.
