CSV worked with Lixar IT to adaptively reuse a warehouse building at 373 Coventry Road in Ottawa. The existing single-storey building was approximately 27,500 square feet including a partial basement under one area. Of that, approximately 18,000 square feet was renovated to act as office space for Lixar while approximately 8,000 was left as a separate tenant suite. The initial architectural phase of work involved preparing a Functional Program for the space, followed by more traditional phases of design through construction completion.
CSV focused early efforts working with a user group and marketing team to identify the corporate look and feel that would best represent the company’s philosophy and work ethic. This aesthetic was carried throughout the project from the main entry, through the large employee workspace, to the client lounge areas. Special care was taken to utilize the natural light available in the building, while still providing acoustic and visual privacy where required.
