The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria. LEED® is a third-party certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. It provides building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. CSV Architects have been directly involved in the design and construction of 8 LEED® certified buildings and have assisted on no less than 8 other projects.
In November 2014, the USGBC launched the newest version of LEED®, a comprehensive technical update to the rating system requirements. CSV is actively seeking clients who are looking to take their building design and implementation to the next step in green building.
LEED® promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water efficiency, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
LEED® v4 Programs:
- LEED®-BD+C for Building Design and Construction
- LEED®-ID+C for Interior Design and Construction
- LEED®-O+M for Building Operations and Maintenance
- LEED®-ND for Neighbourhood Development
LEED® consulting for Clients:
Sustainable design is an integral piece of every building designed at CSV Architects. Specifications are developed to incorporate the best practices of green building for all material. Designs are focused on durability and energy efficiency, while never lessening the beauty and functionality of the structures.
For those clients who choose to pursue LEED® certification, CSV has the experience and capacity to provide full LEED® consulting services in-house. These services are fully integrated with our architectural services.
LEED® consulting for Architects:
CSV offers a full range of options related to the Coordination and Management of the LEED® Green Building Rating System to Architectural firms who do not have the capacity available in house. When collaborating with other architecture firms, CSV sustainability operates independently from the CSV architectural division maintaining confidentiality for clients. To assist in maximizing the goals of the project and minimizing the costs, CSV also offers companion sustainability services to the LEED® process such as Energy Modeling and Energy Efficient Incentive Funding administration. Concurrently, CSV Architects can offer third-party consulting services in regard to services relevant to other LEED® elements of the project including durable building.
LEED® consulting for Contractors:
CSV offers a variety of solutions related to the coordination and management of the LEED® Green Building Rating System for contractors who are unfamiliar with the process or do not possess the capacity to coordinate such projects in-house. When working on LEED® projects with contractors, the architectural division at CSV operates independently from the sustainability division, maintaining confidentiality for clients.
LEED® projects can create considerable work for contractors and trades. LEED® certification creates the need for a substantial paperwork chain as well as the implementation and documentation of certification criteria. CSV has a wealth of experience in the Project Management and submission process of LEED® Green Building projects. Construction and administrative costs can be kept to a minimum while construction quality is maintained. CSV's extensive library of materials and experience in implementing LEED® best practices greatly lighten the contractor’s workload and frustration.
