Cedarview Alliance Church requested the design of a new 950 seat auditorium addition including a large foyer for social events, a child-care centre, a prayer room, and washrooms. The auditorium includes a stage with overhead catwalks, theatrical lighting, a sound system, and a projection system. The shape of the room and ceiling-mounted panels are designed for optimized acoustic performance and expansion of seating. Seating is arranged in a radial pattern to promote good sight lines and reinforce the closeness between pastor and congregation. The addition is designed to allow for a second phase of construction of double the size of the auditorium in the future. Site improvements include an expansion of the parking lot, new entrance driveway, drop-off area and covered entry porch, as well as a new septic system and site landscaping.

With exception of the steel main truss beam the entirety of the structure was built using engineered lumber. Lumber is a renewable resource, requires less energy to manufacture than steel or concrete, and is recyclable at the end of its lifespan. Indoor environmental quality was important to the Church so the use of low- and no-VOC products was imperative.
