Anthony Leaning, OAA, FRAIC, GGP



Anthony Leaning, with more than 4½ decades of architectural education and work experience in Canada, England, and Sweden, has been architect, principal in charge and project manager for a wide range of residential, institutional, commercial, heritage, and government projects. He has led consultant teams on many different project types with particular experience in sustainable design, housing, community facilities, and adaptive re-use.

Anthony is considered a leader in sustainable design with more than three decades experience in green building and energy efficiency. He was one of the first architects in the city to obtain LEED accreditation, complete a LEED certified project, and a building designed to the Passive House Standard.

Anthony work spans the full spectrum of architectural practice.  He is strongly committed to and engaged with user needs and client requirements; he is knowledgeable with the full range of methods and technology involved in architecture in general and sustainable design in particular; he understands building science and systems including energy performance and building envelope design; and designs buildings that are rewarded by a high level of client and user satisfaction, and for which he has received many awards and recognition spanning from the local to the international level.
